Stopped Vehicle and Debris Detection (SVDD)

iSentry can now provide unrivalled stopped vehicle and debris detection (SVDD) in all weather conditions in an open environment. Our outdoor-capable SVDD system was selected as "best meeting the needs" of a major Roads and Traffic Authority.

For several years, iSentry has provided ultra-reliable, long distance stopped vehicle detection for fixed cameras. Its ability to detect stopped vehicles at very long ranges, out to the horizon in many cases, means it has been able to offer excellent performance at long distances.

Now, Sentient has released the best* Vehicle Incident Detection system available for Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) cameras.

The iSentry system is smart and remembers the view to be monitored. It automatically detects when a PTZ camera has been moved away from its home position and will recognise new views. When returned to its home position, iSentry will immediately recognise the view and instantly recommence its monitoring and analysis. No recalibration period is required.

And now this unique capability has been recognised by the UK Highways Agency.

The UK Highways Agency has approved the release of a paper detailing test work it commissioned with Cambridge Consultants. This report (24 Sep 2009), which is available here, compares two leading-performance, PTZ-capable Vehicle Incident Detection systems available on the market. And iSentry is shown to be superior in all categories, sometimes by a factor of more than 2.
